- SPECIAL EVENT
- Slither and Squeak
- Sunday, October 26, 2008
1-4 pm - Wear your Halloween costume to a spooky science spectacular at Coyote Point Museum on Sunday, October 26. Discover the secrets of animals that slither, squeak, creep and crawl. Take a closer look at live animals as well as skeletons and skins. Explore the science of special effects and try making your own haunted house of squeaks, creaks, slime and ooze. Learn about lightning and make some electric inventions of your own. In addition to these special activities, we’re hosting some special guests, including live native bats. So slither or squeak in for this exciting day. You might just decide that snakes, skinks, tarantulas and other “creepy critters” have a softer side. Fun for the whole family, admission to this exciting one-day event is included with Museum admission.
- ECO-GINGERBREAD DESIGN CHALLENGE 2008
- Entry form due by December 7th
Entries on display December 13-27
- The annual gingerbread display has been a beloved part of Coyote Point Museum’s history for 28 years. In an effort to better "walk our talk" as an environmental education institution, last year we added an eco-twist to the event by encouraging participants to think "green" and create an environmental exhibit. Continuing this new tradition, this year we have three categories from which to choose: Eco-Edifice, Wildlife Habitat and Fairytale House.
- Entries will be on display in the Environmental Hall from Saturday, December 13th through Saturday, December 27th. Entry form with fee to Coyote Point Museum by December 7, 2008.
