Registration Guidelines

Because of high demand, all programs, tours, and group visits require pre-registration. Following are our registration policies for the 2008-2009 school services programs:

Registration: Registration for programs, tours, and group visits for the 2008-2009 school year begins August 18, 2008. To begin your registration, please complete a "Registration Request Form". This can be done:

  • Online www.coyoteptmuseum.org
  • Fax (650) 342-7853
  • Mail Coyote Point Museum, Attn: Scheduler,
1651 Coyote Point Drive, San Mateo, CA, 94401

There are no registrations taken by phone, although we would be happy to help answer questions you may have and make the scheduling process easier. We process requests on a first-come first-served basis. Please be sure to fill out the form completely, as incomplete forms may delay your registration.

Acknowledgment of your program request will be sent within 10 days of receipt of completed registration form. This is ONLY an acknowledgment that we received your request and are working on scheduling your program.

Scheduling your program will begin with your requested date(s) and time(s) provided on the registration form. Provide as many options as possible. Programs are scheduled based on availability of space, educators, and our animal ambassadors. The schedule is subject to change. Provide current contact information so we can reach you if there is any need for communication regarding your program and/or registration. Please be sure to provide your email address, we prefer to communicate electronically.  Email is faster, reduces paper use, and helps the environment.

Invoice: Once your program has been scheduled you will be sent an invoice with the total amount due for you program.  The invoice is your confirmation.  Be sure to review the invoice to ensure that the schedule of your program is correct.

Deposit/Payment: A deposit of $50 is required to confirm your reservation.  The deposit is non-refundable and will be deducted from the total due.  If your deposit is not received by the due date, your program will be cancelled and the date and time made available for another group.  The balance due must be no later than 30 days prior to your scheduled program. If payment is not received your registration will be cancelled and the date and time made available for another group. Sorry, we do not accept payment for programs at the door. You can pay for your program by check/money order or credit card (Master Card, Visa, American Express).  Payment of the deposit intiates the refund and program change policies.

Program Fees include your program and, for those attending programs at the Museum, admission for the confirmed number of students, one teacher, and up to 7 adult chaperones. There is a $5.25/person fee for each additional adult chaperone due at the time of your class visit. Fees are subject to change.

Program/Lesson Maximums are set to provide the ideal educational experience and quality for the students. If the number of students is over the maximum for a lesson this may result in the Museum’s needing to alter your program, scheduling and charging you for additional lesson(s), and/or our inability to teach your program.  Please be sure to communicate with the Museum ahead of time if you anticipate having more students than the maximum allowed.

Chaperones are necessary for a safe and successful experience at the Museum. Your class fee includes admission for you (the educator) and up to 7 adult chaperones. Certain classes require the involvement of the teacher/chaperone. The Museum educator reserves the right to limit the number of chaperones in any program and have them enjoy the museum facilities. Please be sure to read the “Chaperone Guidelines” that comes with your program confirmation for more information.

Refunds will be given if you cancel your program at least 14 days prior to the confirmed program date. Your deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations made less than 14 days before your confirmed program date will result in a loss of your registration fees. A full refund will be given if your class is cancelled by Coyote Point Museum.

Changes to your registration can be made up to 14 days prior to your confirmed program date. A $50 fee will be charged for changing your program and/or program date/time after you have paid your deposit.
