Fun Facts
Millipedes have existed for over 400 million years. They are the prime decomposers of wood and leaf litter; in tropical forests they replace the earthworms. Although the Giant African Millipede is herbivorous, some species are carnivorous.

Tropical and sub-tropical forest floors, burrowing in the leaf litter and loose soil.

Tropical and sub-tropical western Africa.
