Leadership Development Program

(Entering 7th, 8th, 9th grade in fall 2010)

This specially designed program for youth entering 7th-9th grade in the fall of 2010 combines leadership development, science education, and environmental stewardship into one exceptional experience!  Selected participants will increase their leadership skills and put them into practice within our summer camp program, educating and inspiring others about our planet.

This program is an excellent opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership, responsibility, independent decision-making skills, teaching skills, and science knowledge.

Successful participants have continued their growth within our Leaders in Training program, gained valuable experience that has helped them in their school and personal development, and gone on to be successful environmental stewards and educators here at the Museum and in the community.

Participants must apply and be accepted in order to participate.  Those accepted MUST attend the program for a week-long training held June 14th-18th (which includes a CAMPOUT at a ranch in Pescadero) and commit to a minimum of 80 hours of practical experience between June 21st and August 20th.

To apply for the Leadership Development Program the PARTICIPANT must complete and submit an application packet by April 6, 2010.  Applications can be downloaded from our website and may be faxed or mailed to the address on the application.  All applications will be reviewed, and appropriate candidates will be asked to interview.  Those who are the best fit for the program wil be selected to participate.  For questions, please contact Carl Oosterman by email at coosterman(at)coyoteptmuseum.org or by phone at (650) 340-7590.
